What would be the best way to do this on masse? We have several thousand accounts that have been wrongly imported as Inactive. I simply want to change their status to Active.

    Hi,

We're on CRM/Outlook 2016 so that method is not an option.

    Thanks

Try the Bulk Workflow tool for XrmToolbox by Andy Popkin. Make sure you download a compatible version of XrmToolBox:

I'm not having much luck! Seems that tool is no longer available (certainly not for 2016).

You could also do an export/reimport for those records. Or you could amend your max number of records in a view (unsupported) to a thousand and then just use the ui to select all of page and activate.

Why is running an on-demand workflow not an option because you're on Outlook 2016?

If you have a view for inactive accounts, running the workflow in that view will remove the inactive accounts from the view and put them in active accounts. So even if you must run the workflow several times, you'll at least make progress.

An alternative is to write a console application or something to connect to your CRM and update the accounts. msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg695803%28v=crm.7%29.aspx

firstly you should delete your import job then all data is rollback.

then you re import the file with correct status.

    Hope your problem is resolved.

Again, even if it's thousands of records, you'll at least be making progress by running manual activation by shift-selecting a page.

OK - I've got the Inactive Accounts view in Outlook, but it's limited to 50 records. I've pinned it as suggested in the article mentioned above, but I'm at a loss as to how that helps me display 250 at a time?

Personal Options there is an option to increase this up to 250.
