object address not found on party or party is marked as non-emailable

Hello, I'm programmatically creating an email and everything is working as expected. However, when I try to add a contact to the collection of cc activityparties, the system encounters the following error:

"Object address not found on party or party is marked as non-emailable"

Based on some googling, I found the following comment that was marked as answer on another forum:

"The message indicates that the contact has no email address defined on its form or that this contact is marked as non emailable (see boolean in administration tab)"

The contact has an email address on the contact form. I'm not sure what's meant by "see boolean in administration tab." Specifically, I don't see any type of administration tab on the contact form and I'm an admin on the system. Is an admin tab expected on the contact form? If so then how can I get to it?

Looks like the contact table has columns DoNotEmail, DoNotBulkEmail. However, these column values are set to 0 for all rows. Not sure what's causing this error or how to fix.

Hi, I think that answer was referring to the previous CRM version

    And from this link:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940176

Which is valid for CRM 3.0

    Resolution 1

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

    1. Click Sales, and then click Contacts.
    2. Double-click a contact.
    3. Click the Administration tab, click Allow for E-mail, and then click Allow for Bulk E-mail.
    4. Click Save and Close.

    Resolution 2

To resolve this problem, you have to add W3wp.exe and CRMBullkEmail services to the exceptions for the mass mailing worms. For more information about how to add files to the list of the excluded port blocking processes, contact your antivirus software provider.

In CRM 2011/2013, the Administration Tab is no longer available.

In CRM 3.0 you have this tab:

    1172.allowemail1.png

But, in CRM 2013, the UI has been changed, including the Contact Form:

By default, the Sample Data mark the Email and Bulk Email as checked (Allow)

    Try this, thank you.

Thanks Aileen - I'm currently on CRM 2011.  Can you tell me where I would find those settings in 2011?

Also, since the contact table has column values for DoNotEmail, DoNotBulkEmail set to 0 for all rows that seems to indicate that the allow checkboxes you referred to are checked by default for all contacts.  Am I correctly inferring the default setting?  If so then what else might be causing this error?

Hi Andrew, in CRM 2011, I think still in under preference:

But, yes, by default is 0 for DoNotEmail, you are correct.

Your contact have email address as well right?

Okay, for checking, can you do send email without custom code? to the same person?

"E-mail" and "Bulk E-mail" are both set to "Allow" for the contact.

I was able to send an e-mail to the contact through the normal send email method.

The contact is included with a user in the cc collection.  I tried replacing the contact with a copy of the user and it worked as expected.  This eliminates the possibility of the cc collection structure as the root cause of the problem.

Therefore the error that I'm getting for the contact still seems to be an unsolved mystery.

Okay, I have CRM 2013 and am receiving this message, but both email and bulk email are set to "Allow" on the contact.  Any idea what could be causing this?

Make sure that the sender has valid email address.

    Hi,

I just encountered the same issue.

Apparently, it was because the user who will become the 'From' in email, does not have email or his email is not approved yet, but his outgoing profile was using Email Router, which is need a valid email and has to has valid outgoing profile. Hope this helps! Thanks.

You could be using a queue in From or To. Make sure this queue has a valid email address.
