Data Migration from AX2012 R3 CU8 to D365 Operations update 12 (7.2)

I have been following the microsoft link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/migration-upgrade/prepare-data-upgrade for Data Upgrade from AX2012 R3 to D365 FO. Installed the KB 4035163 mentioned in the article. But unable to execute next steps i.e Prepare model meta data etc. How to run the next steps. I have seen a video which tells that a new menu item will be created in the systems Adminstration->Checklists path. But its not appearing in my case. Is there any specific step that i am missing as document from microsoft does not tell anything about it. Can anybody help me to move forward?

    Did you go though post installation step after hot fix installation ? technet.microsoft.com/.../hh538446.aspx

    Yes we have already completed these steps. I need to know how we can run the pre-upgrade checklist as mentioned in microsoft doc. Please see the link docs.microsoft.com/.../prepare-data-upgrade.

    HI Kashif ,

    You have to install KB in 2012  to get those pre-upgrade check list

    I had already installed the KB 4035163. The issue was that I was unable to get the required xpo. Now it has been resolved. Thanks to all for your valuable suggestions even though it did not helped me :)

    Hi Kashif

    I am facing the same problem i.e. there is no checklist added to 'Prepare model metadata'. Can you please help me in downloading the XPO you have mentioned in solution.

    I am facing the same issue. Installed hotfix 4048614 in AX 2012 R2 environment and complete all the steps under Sofware update checklist, but can't see the menu option for Dynamics 365 data upgrade checklist.

    Kashif, can you please share from where you have downloaded the XPO that contain Dynamics 365 data upgrade checklist option ?

    Hi Baber

    It's not an XPO to be downloaded. There seems to be some issue with the hotfix/kb which gets installed successfully but do not add the menu item to menu. 

    You can find that menu item (SysCheckList_UpgradeToNextV) in list of display menu items. Add it to menu or open it from there directly.

    I had the exact same issue on AX2012R2.

    After I completed all steps below, I could view and use the checklist.

    Please try the same and verify.

    1. Install KB 4048614.

    2. Finish all the steps on 'Software update checklist'.

    3. From AOT menu, open the checklist menu.

    Path: AOT >> Menu Items >> Display >> SysCheckList_UpgradeToNextV

    The checklist was shown as below and was able to prep data.
