Hello,
How can I send email notification to external user based on record field change using business process flow in CRM. i could see workflow succeed in the process session also seeing email description in the CRM timeline but not getting email via external user email address. do I need to configure email settings at CRM and exchange level?
Note: FYI, i am using custom entity to get the external user name but not sure how to get the external user logged in email address. Basically plan is retrieve the external user name and email address and then as soon as submit the form, workflow will run and send the confirmation email to external user email address that application has received and its under review.
Thanks in advanced.
Hi Rakki,
Dynamics will only allow you to send emails to entities that are email enabled, and the email will be sent to the entity records primary email address.
The default Email enabled entities are lead, contact, account...however you can also create a custom entity and enable it for email in the entity customizations.
Maybe you cant use the contact entity to store your external users, you can create a type field to also help you identify the contact type.
Then you can use workflow to send emails using the send email action, as long as the recipient and primary email is stored in a valid email entity.
Or you can try use power automate to send email through email address directly.
