Hi All,
I want to test app registration in azure portal with free azure subscription. Can you please help me in knowing the possibility of provisioning the D365 VM with free subscription so that i can test the app registration in azure portal. Please let me know if there is any other alternative to do app registration with free azure subscription and a demo d365 FO vm.
Regards
Venky
Are you trying to do some integration just for exploration purpose ? I dont think you can provision a D365 dev VM with free subscription. If you just want to try app registrations , i think you can do that on azure portal
App registration is not linked to a subscription, it is connected to azure active directory, so if you have a tenant you can create app registration, then add subscription and deploy a VM into it, so it should be possible.
Hello Venky,
Can you please help me in knowing the possibility of provisioning the D365 VM with free subscription so that i can test the app registration in azure portal?A] You can register a D365 VM to an Azure tenant with a free subscription (provided you are the administrator of that tenant or have the privileges to add and remove components on that tenant). All you need is a subscription id and then use the Pay-As-You-Go capability on Azure.
App-registration:You need to ensure that the tenant where you are registering the app is on the same tenant as D365 FinOps and your user id is added to the Azure Active directory. Later, depends on the API you are trying to register. You need to ensure you have the right license and the credentials to access the API. For example, if you are trying to access PowerBI using the API, you need to ensure you have the right credentials to access the API.

Hi Venkatdax0,
If you want to try to register the app in azure, please refer to the following DOC to register an app in AAD.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/develop/quickstart-register-app.
Then you can provision a D365VM with free subscription and add it to your AAD.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/fundamentals/active-directory-how-subscriptions-associated-directory
If you want to do something about deploying D365VM, you can read Ievgen's article:

Hope this helps.
