How to exclude custom fields from unmanaged solution ?

We developed a Solution in Dynamics CRM 2013 on-prem wherein we added custom fields to the Account entity. Now upon creating a new Solution under a new Publisher we find that upon adding the Account entity to the new solution the custom fields are also introduced to the new Solution.

Is there no means available for adding fields to an Entity in a Solution without exposing those same fields to all other solutions containing that Entity?

Thank you for your helpful suggestion. I will go forward with testing that approach.

This does seem to preclude the possibility of developing multiple solutions across common entities within a single dev environment. I had been thinking of the publisher prefix as analogous to a Salesforce namespace. Whereas it seems that entities are actually global in Dynamics CRM, irrespective of Solution/Publisher/Prefix. Is that fair to say?
