Create a letter activity from Mail Merge

We need to save all letters sent to a contact in that record. What is the best way to do this?

We have currently being printing letters as reports but there is no way to track these against the contact. I was hoping to use Mail Merge templates but this doesn't track the letter as an activity.

I have tried to use the Outlook Client but this doesn't work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You may be able to use a Quick Campaign to do this, create a marketing list with all the people you are sending the letter to, then click the plus icon next to the Quick Campaign panel to start the process. If you do so via the Email campaign activity type, you should be able to use an Email Template to do the mail merge component as well.

    For audit purposes we need to have the exact letter saved against the contact and needs to marked as a letter. Doing the above doesn't allow me to use the letter templates and save the exact letter. (unless I am misunderstanding)

    Hi,

    If you want to know the letters sent against each contact, i think you have to do some custom plugin to achieve this as OOB CRM doesnt track it. Else you have to look for some 3rd party tools.
