Change Based Alert Rules

Posted on by 892

Hi All,

I am trying to configuring an alert lets say when a new item is created. The alerts are working perfectly fine and I get the notification "Field ItemId is set to XXXX".

My Client has a requirement to view the actual item id in the alert subject or the message. So basically they are looking for an alert like "Item ABCD has bee created" or "Item 1234 has been created". I Know we can set these dynamic values in a workflow notification. But does anyone know how to do this in an alert.

Thanks,

Kaushik

Ok then. try this template. You can manage template multiple ways as per your requirement.

%for% has been created in the Products

    Alert details

    Occurred:          %occurred%

    Compnay:         %company%

Message:           %for% has been created in the Products

    Additional info:  %data%

Thanks Faqru. I tried this but I get the same structure in the body of the notification. It shows me %Event% instead of showing me the event details.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for the link. Is it possible to configure business data in the notification itself, we will not be sending out any emails.

    Thanks,

    Kaushik

    Hi Kaushik,

You can use some variables which will be replaced on the alerts. You can see if a standard will be sufficient for your needs. Have a look at the next help: technet.microsoft.com/.../aa834423.aspx
