UTF 16 and GP Sales Order Import

We have a client that recently started to receive an SOP import file from a Scandinavian country. Looking at the XML file I believe what I am seeing are UTF-16 characters. When these orders are imported these characters are being converted to non-printable characters. How have others solved this problem? Is there a conversion program out there that can convert these characters?

Hi Richard - the problem is that GP stores it's data in the database as the "char" data type, not the "nchar" data type. "nchar" would support storing these "special" characters. There may be some workarounds I could suggest for you - send me a private message if you'd like and I can advise on how I can help you out.
