SharePoint to Dynamic 365 file integration "Current user have insufficient privileges"

(3) ShareShare

We are having trouble getting files to show up in the "file" section within Dynamic 365.

We have gone through and done the document management settings > document management settings setup. and our SharePoint site now has document libraries for each of the entities we selected.

However, the folders are blank and Dynamic 365 still says "Collaborate and share files easily–ask your admin to enable SharePoint."

I read here (Set up customer engagement apps to use SharePoint Online - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn) That we need to ensure we have "server-based SharePoint Integration" enabled, so I went to "document management settings > Configure server-based SharePoint integration". I went through the steps and when I click "Done" I get a response saying "Current user have insufficient privileges".

I am truly stumped, we reworked a majority of the permissions, spoke with copilot, and researched this online to no avail. Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?
To be honest, we might have accidently already done the "Server-based SharePoint Integration" step. but if that is the case, why do we still get the "Collaborate and share files easily–ask your admin to enable SharePoint." message when trying to upload documents or files... we are missing something and cant see it because we are so involved in trying to fix what we think is wrong... any tips?

Update: the "Current user have insufficient privileges" issue was directly related to the OneDrive for Business checkbox. If we did not check that box, we coud complete the check list, but even then, we did not have any files or anything available under the files tab, it still says ""Collaborate and share files easily–ask your admin to enable SharePoint."
I have the same question (0)

Ensure that the user attempting to configure the server-based SharePoint integration has the necessary permissions. The user needs to have the System Administrator security role in Dynamics 365 and be a Global Administrator in Microsoft 365.

VaHiX, the SharePoint is online, not on-Premises.

Also, we found out that the error "Current user have insufficient privileges" Only occurs if you are trying to also enable OneDrive for Business. If you do not check that box the system lets you complete and finish the check list, however upon completion, nothing happens and I am still left with the file section saying "Collaborate and share files easily–ask your admin to enable SharePoint."

To be clear, I am an admin, we have checked all the permissions, Copilot recommended we check that right off the bat.

Muhammad.Affan I have already reviewed that link and a majority of it is outdated and its step by step instructions do not apply anymore to the new layout. It has not helped. I have go through many of the steps but for whatever reason my D365 file section still says "Collaborate and share files easily–ask your admin to enable SharePoint."

I do not know what happened, but I logged in from my desktop today and it showed the integration to be working. I went directly to my sharepoint and it showed some of the accounts had corresponding folders. It is only partially creating accounts, but its something.

The weird part is, I checked the logs and it JUST created all of the folders... It just magically connected at 10:00am CST...

I wonder if there is an update or something that had to run.... weird.

If you have experienced this same issue, I would suggest looking into running any updates or checking for timed rollouts or something, I have no clue...
