Audit data archiving - CRM 2016 online

I want to archive audit data so that it doesn't consume too much database space and to archive before moving to a new CRM instance.

I am getting timeouts on retrieving the data. I'm using KingswaySoft tools to do this.

Are there Microsoft tools to do this? If not is there a way of designing queries so that timeouts don't occur?

RE: Audit data archiving - CRM 2016 online

First of all, I would like to thank you for choosing KingswaySoft as your tool to read audit data from Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

For your particular situation, I suggest you use a FetchXML query to read from the actual business entity instead of the audit entity, in which case you should not get timeout errors. You can also potentially increase OLEDB timeout setting on your CRM server side (if you are using a CRM on-premise installation) in case you have to read from audit entity directly. Again, reading from audit entity is a poor practice which tends to timeout and also you will get a very poor performance. I believe we have mentioned this in our online documentation.
