A good morning

I have a question, we have a parent Business Unit where I am apart off (I am also the administrator)

I have 1 client business unit where my collegeaus are apart off,

I tried to move my user account to the client business account but this doens't work, what I want is that the people in the client business account also see the cases that I make in the parent Business account

I have the same question (0)

RE: user with parent business unit and business unit

    Hi,

Lets assume you are part of Business Unit A and your colleagues are part of a child business Unit B (which is under A).

In this scenario, users of Business Unit B cannot access records of Business Unite A (parent).

You can do one of the following to fix this:

    • Update the role of your colleagues and give them Root read access (full green dot) on Account entity. However, this might not be a wise action depending upon your security model.
    • Second option is to use, Share option on the account record. You can see the Share button in ribbon.. This option will allow you to share Accounts created by you with your colleagues. This will give your more control over what records you need to share. You can use access teams for this purpose.

Please see following for more details:

    Hi,

If you are a part of parent business unit then you will get access to all the records of child business units.

But if you want to give access permission to child business unit user so that they can access records created by users from root business unit then set their access permission to either parent child or global.

For example if you want to give this kind of access for account, go to the security role the child BU users have and change the account entity permission as below

    Hi Koen,

In this case, we need to create an owner team with parent Business Unit, and add the users of client business into this owner team.

    Please refer to https://www.azamba.com/2018/05/24/how-to-create-an-owner-team-in-microsoft-dynamics-365-for-sales-crm/

    1) Go to Advanced Settings > Security > Security Roles, new a security role of parent Business Unit.

    2) Go to Security > Teams, new an owner team with parent Business Unit, assign the new security role to it.

    3) Add the users of client business into this owner team.
