Project Management Parameter

Hi,

I recently came across a parameter in the project module of AX where I do not know what this parameter is doing.

Maybe somebody has seen and used the parameter "automatically set accounting date to open ledger period" in the journals section of the project management and accounting module and can let me know what the parameter does.

Hope somebody can help.

Regards,

Ludwig

    Please refer following link

    technet.microsoft.com/.../aa599440.aspx

Set voucher date to: Specify which date the voucher date is derived from. Select from Project period end date, Ledger period end date, and Project date.

    Note

This control is not available in the Project management and accounting parameters form if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed. In AX 2012 R2 and AX 2012 R3, the Set voucher date to field is located in the Journal names form.

Please let us know which version of Dynamics AX 2012 you are working on.

Please verify and update us with your findings

    Hello Denis,

here is a screenshot that I took from a Standard Dynamics AX R3 contoso demo machine. The Parameter I have Problems with can be found in the upper left-Hand Corner. I have no clue what this Parameter is doing and have not been able to find a documentation on TechNet. Hope you can help.

    Hi Ludwig,

This paramter is added within CU8 for AX 2012 R3. At time of posting an expense journal it can automatically set the accounting date to the first open period. This is applicable when the project date is in the past and the related accounting period is closed.

For AX 2012 R2 and R3 there is also a separate hotfix available which adds this feature to an existing environment: fix.lcs.dynamics.com/.../Results
