Consume material on route journal

Hi ,

I'm wondering if it's possible for me to consume the material while i'm posting the route journal, then i know the actual material consumed instead of using the picking list journal.

The problem i have now is materials are consumed when i post the picking list, and by the end of month, if not all the materials picked are not consumed , i won't be able to know the actual material cost of the finished product.

If you in the first place post a consumption of 10 to a production order but you only consume 8 then you must post a "2 returned to the warehouse" as well specific to the productions order.

You can't just wait until month end to see e.g. 150 not consumed from various production orders and then do whatever. The return has - as the original flow - to be porduction order specific.

Or another way originally: You apply picking list of 10 but do not post it. Once you've consumed required quantity, e.g. 8 then you change the quantity in the journal to 8. Now you return the items to warehouse and post the journal.

Which flow to use in practise depends on time lengths of production orders, accounting principles etc.

Suppose we consume the materials while we post the Route/Job journal, How to deal with the picking list journal, cause we need picking list to ask warehouse staff to pick the raw material.
and it's really removed from the warehouse, and the on-head inventory should be deducted. so i'm a little bit confusing.
