Hello,

I want to add a line to a transfer journal, now there are many items so i want to scan the bar codes of the item, once i scan the bar code, using a usb infrared scanner, can a line be created in the transfer journal with its current location?

Like for e.g. i have stored a item with serial SER1 in site S1, warehouse W1 and location L1. Now when i scan the serial number of item can a line be created in the transfer journal and movement journal line?

can this be achieved in warehouse app ? because i can only see purchase receive or sales picking functionality in demo.

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

in warehouse app, you can do counting by location, by item

This can be done in Warehouse Management>Cycle Counting>Cycle Counting Work by Item or Cycle Count Work by Location.

serial number alone cannot uniquely identify the true inventory position

    Can do spot counting

is it possible to use transfer journal ? instead of counting?

    Hi Naveen,

The warehouse app can't be used here in this way. Note that the serial number might not be unique across all items. Assume you scan only a serial number and there are two products? What should the system do for you? Can you tell in detail what information is in the barcode?

    Hello Andre,

    Yes, you are absolutely right.

the end user wants to scan the item using scanner which is connected to laptop using a USB port. and the system should create a line inside the transfer journal or a movement journal . is there any way to achieve it?

or is there a way to simplify the item transfer process using the scanner? the item should be transferred from warehouse 1 to warehouse 2

if you are ensuring serial are unqiue across inventory then upon scanning serial could write a trigger to populate item and other details on transfer journal

    Hello Rahul,

by trigger you mean customization ?

Using the Warehouse app, you can create and complete a 'Warehouse Transfer'.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-mobile-devices-warehouse

(Although the flow always starts with the user scanning the source Location or LP).

It is possible to run the Warehouse app on a laptop, and I assume it would work with a USB scanner (although I never tried it).
