Professional Services Tools Library- Item Number Modifier, Odd Error

Posted on by 1,145

Hello,

In the past, I have used the item number modifier without any type of issue. However, I have now attempted to use it and have been presented with errors.

This is the first error windows states "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKMP030000'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.MP030000'. The second error window states 'The stored procedure SMItemChange1 returned the following results:DBMS: 2627, Microsoft Dynamics GP: 0."

I have never encountered this before. If someone could assist me, I would greatly appreciate it. We are currently running Microsoft GP 9 SP3.

    Hi.

The MP030000 table is the MRP_Exclude table.  You may also have similar primary key violations if you are using the SOP Customer Item Lookup tool from the PSTL. Different table, same problem.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

I am familiar with SQL. I did some testing and it would seem after removing the item from this table as well as a service table, it allowed the modification to go through for each subsequent item. It was an odd error. I am doing some further testing to understand why this is happening. I have no trouble with the item modifier up until this point.

What it means is, the item you are modifying to already exists in the table MP030000 (don't know what the table is, but items are getting added there by a trigger on one of the inventory tables). You would need to delete the item you are modifying to from this table. Hope you are familiar with SQL.
