Hi,

I'm trying to install Integration Manager 12 for GP 2013 and I'm getting the following error:

A fatal error was encountered.

The Integration Manager for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 installation has ended prematurely.

I previously installed eConnect succesfully, and I am trying to install on Windows Server 2012.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Are you running the installation for a zipped file? If so extract the file and then try the install. If the install still fails we would need to see a windows installer log.

    Hello Jonathan,

I extracted the files first. Where can I find the installer log?

    Thanks!!

Looks like the problem is with the hotfix in the updates folder in the Integration Manager folder. What happens if you remove that file from the updates folder?

You may have a problem with the .Net components installed on  the server by Microsoft Update being too new.   Uninstall the .Net components, then try installing Integration Manager.  Once you have IM installed, then the .Net components can be updated.  Also, make sure you are running the installation as administrator, right click, run as administrator.  Finally, make sure you enable the compatibility settings for IM once successfully installed to always Run as Administrator, right click on the icon and select the compatibility tab and choose Run as Administrator option.

    Hello Harry!

I tried unistalling .NET components, however I got the same error... Any other idea?

    Jonathan

I tried removing the update folder, and it gave me an error indicating that there was a missing component for the installation.

    Greetings Luis!

Make sure you disable User Account Control on the server.  Also, make sure the installation directory is not located on the network and is in a directory with a short path name, not on the desktop - we use a directory like c:\installs as a general rule.  Finally, the user account should also be a machine administrator on the server.

    Harry,

I checked the UAC settings and it is disabled, I'm installing using the domain administrator account; and I just move the IM installer to a folder in C:\ (I called C:\iminstaller) and when I run the installation I get the same error.

I am thinking to migrate the whole installation, including SQL Server, GP, Management Reporter and eConnect to a Windows Server 2012 in english (that is a lot of work); That makes any sense for you? or do you think that the language does not have any influence on the installation?

    Thanks again for your help!!!

Not to over-simplify things, but Integration Manager can be installed and run from locations other than the server, and requires no server installation.   If there isn't a compelling reason to install IM on the Server, install it on a workstation.  You can deploy the IM database in a shared network location by placing it on the network and browsing to it under Tools > Options > Default Integration Manager Database - this must be done from every workstation using IM regardless.  In order for IM to run, you must have Dynamics GP installed, be logged in with no GP windows open (i.e. Sales Transaction Entry).
