Unable to see custom entities in plugin registration tool

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I've already read a few posts that say to clear your cache, check user roles, basic solutions like this, but the problem persists.  But basically what happens is when I go to type an entity into the primary entity field when registering a step for my plugin, it not only doesn't show the entity that I am looking for, but the custom entities it DOES show me aren't even in the org I'm working on.  I'm very confused by the whole thing at this point... Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,

Please go to the Solution containing all the custom entities and Publish All Customizations. Now, close the Plugin Registration Tool and restart it again.

Note: Entities are only loaded once, and then cached by the Plugin registration tool.

    Hope this helps.

And you are using correct server name?

Well, I'd probably ask for a bunch of screenshots at this point so we could see a few things:

    - org name for the organization you are connecting to

    - one of those custom entities which don't exist

    - probably a screenshot of the default solution just so we could compare (and so we could see the server name)

    - Login screen for the plugin registration utility (server name, in particular)

Not sure what's missing and where - maybe we would see something on the screenshots

I just tried this, and it turns out I can't find the custom entities from any of the orgs! They all have different custom entities, but it doesn't show any of the actual custom ones for each org.  It does however show the same incorrect custom entities that don't actually exist.........Very odd...

How many orgs do you have there?

Just out of curiosity.. if you have 2-3 orgs.. Connect to each of them and see if you can find the entities..

The only reason you would not see some entities, yet you would see those which are not supposed to be there is if you somehow connected to the wrong org..

I did click display list of available organizations and then picked the one that I am trying to run the plugin on.  Also I have published all customizations multiple times aswell as restarting the plugin tool.  Very confusing why it continues to happen!

I did choose the organization when I connected, and it says the correct org name after I have connected to it.

    Hi,

you probably are connected to the wrong organization. Did you get to choose the organization when connecting?

Not sure how you are connecting, if you have multiple instances it will connect anyone of the instance. Select "display list of available organizations" and choose your organization. all the best!

Note: Publish all customization, close and reopen the Plugin registation tool and then connect. Sometimes normal refresh doesn't work.

EDIT: Gopalan suggested a valid point, make sure you are using schema name!
