Incomplete Transaction

Posted on by 1,491

Hi All,

We sometimes experience this issue of tender entry information not being save during a transaction, hence no receipt is generated as well as item quantity not being updated.

This is causing a lot of issues with most of our customers.

Please has anyone experienced this issue.

Please assist urgently, we are at the point of loosing most of our clients because of this

Thanks

Was the machine working good and this came on recently?

Does the computer shuts and restarts by itself?

Does it it happen any time not just when tendering?

It my be that the machine needs service, overheating of CPU can cause this behaviour.

Machines air vents may be blocked.

Is this primarily happening on a credit/debit transactions? Probably no receipt in the Journal either.

Are you running a customized Status page at the top of the POS screen?

If yes, search the Forum for Status or Named Pipes to fix.

Does the POS program shut down when this occurs, where the transaction doesn't save the information? Also, have you checked on the item that was sold. Does it show the item movement, with blank transaction data?

And what is the status on virus/malware protection?

    Hi,

Both POS and database are on the same machine.

Does the network connection get disconnected at all? Does the pos program state there was a network error, and close? If so, this is usually related to problems with the network, possibly bad ethernet cables or router... i chased an issue like this with a comcast router for 2 years almost. Changed to router, problem went away. Also ensure nothing on the network has malware or viruss as this will also cause this problem
