Is there any way to get the Current Cost for a kit item to be updated based on the current costs of the component items? We can get this information in reports, but the business user would like the cost to be updated in the Item Maintenance and Item Price List Maintenance screens.

If the current cost is an open field and can be manually edited without any "fallout", then you can run an automated sql process that recalculates the Kit Item current cost field from the current cost fields of the components.
Very simple to do, if you have the skillset to do it.
