Adding Department Code - Canadian Payroll

Does anyone know of a reason why in Canadian payroll Employee Card will not allow the staff to enter and save a department code for a specific employee.

The user connected to GP is the sa - the user has been doing payroll for many years and this should not be a lack of experience issue - they are on version GP2010

    Hello Bill,

    Not sure if you're still having this issue, but I checked with our HR/Payroll EE and she stated the following:

    >You should be able to save under Card > HR > Employee and see who that updates. There isn't any reason why it won't save.

    Derek, you are correct "there should be no reason" however, in this case there seems to be a problem that is not allow 'one' user ID to not be able to save the department code.  Other user as far as I know works - have to test and re-visit this matter.

    I will update when I know more.

    I'd be curious if it occurs on all machines as well. We've seen cases where a user profile on a specific machine has caused issues that we can't re-create on other machines and odd behavior such as this.

    I will keep the thread updated - I was thinking along the same lines that I am going to have to test on multiple machines as I could not duplicate on the server as SA - it works just as expected.
