Exporting hidden fields from a form

Posted on by 150

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions how to include hidden fields into Excel export when exporting from a form? For example, a form has a grid with a limited number of fields on the first tab and the rest of the detail fields are on the second tab, to make it look organized. These tabs behave similar to any standard Overview and Detail tabs. Fields on both tabs reside on the same, prepopulated temporary table.

Thank you

    Hi Andre,

I think a customization might work. I'm thinking about an export button which will prompt end users where to save a file and then export all required fields.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi.

You can just personalise the form and add the missing fields to the grid. The export to excel then will bring this through, this worked in 2012, I just tested in it is still working in D365.

    Hi Silentsquirrel,

As Andre said, hidden columns cannot be exported through "Export to Excel".

But the hidden column you mean, Is it through personalization? You can try the hidden column or the displayed column before exporting.

If not, then you can use the suggested method and use data management.

    Hi Silentsquirrel,

This is not possible. The Export to Excel is taking the columns from the grid only.

You can potentially use Data Import Export Framework or consider a customization for another way of exporting data to Excel.
