Create an EFT file NACHA File Format

Posted on by 260

 Hi All

I need to create a NACHA File Format file to EFT to the bank. Not sure how to do this. We are using GP 9.

Thanks

 Craig

The Wells Fargo requirements map perfectly to the NACHA-CCD out of the box format.   You will need to gather some information to complete the EFT Checkbook Setup.   The rest should be straight forward.

I have a copy of the Wells Fargo NACHA file requirements.   I am in the process of mapping it to the ones available in GP.   Hopefully will have that done today.   Will post which (if any) lines up the best with WF document.

Hi - No I don't, unfortunately. But I would imagine that being a USA bank - Wells Fargo would use one of the standard NACHA formats? There are a number of pre-loaded formats in the EFT module - one of these may need just small adjustment to suit. The best thing to do is get the Wells Fargo file specifications and compare these to the out of the box formats.

    Hi Ian

Yes we go already have the EFT checked. Commerce Bank is a US bank and we they use NACHA.

    Thanks for all your help.

Go to Toos >> Setup >> System >> Registration.

Check that the company name and registration keys are your own, then look down through the list of registered products. If you see EFT for Payables listed and it is unticked, then you can tick it. This will give you access to the software.

There is quite a bit of set up required - entering spplier bank details etc.

For sure you can probably complete this yourself, but the help of a consultant will make life a whole of a lot easier.

I don't have a format for Commerce bank (are these US based?), but if they use NACHA, you should be fine, as Iid the NACHA templates come pre-installed.

If you don't have EFT for Payables registered, then I'm guessing that you are on the Business Essentials licence (It comes included in the Advanced Management licence), but you can purchase it seperately.

If you have anything other than a US install (I think its just US...might include South America etc..but definately not European), you wil have to apply for a special dispensation from MS to get EFT.

Hope this helps. Keep the questions coming.

     Hi Ian

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure if we are registered for EFT payments or not. How do I find out if we are? The bank we are using is Commerce Bank. In GP I do see the EFT File setup.

    Thanks for you help

Hi, are you registered for EFT for payables?

If you are, there is an EFT File setup utility. The NACHA formats are included. Usually, there are some minor changes that need to be made depending on individual bak requirements, but these should be straighforward (ie - you can use one of the NACHA templates with minor changes).

What bank(s) are you dealing with? I may have the formats already created. If so, I can export the setup which you can then import into your system.

    Best regards,
