iPad app unable to load

We have been implementing CRM onsite deployment and have gone through steps to setup internetfacing deployment  with ADFS authentication. Everything works as it should, including webpage based logins, and iphone app. However, we are having an issue with ipad app. Once the app is launched, it redirects to adfs page, where user logs in. the authentication appears to go through but right after that, the app just keeps spinning on welcome screen. It never gets done and just sits there.

I checked online and only solution for this issue appears to be here:

Solution provided is: This can occur if the time on the device is not within a certain variance of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. For example: you may encounter this issue if the time on the server is 2 PM on November 11th but the device is set to 2 PM on November 12th.

However, i checked the time on the ipad as well as the CRM server and both appear to be identical. 

I enabled logging on the ipad, and captured the following log:

The odd part about this is that the timestamp on the log do not make sense. I captured this log on 2015-07-02 in the evening at about 5PM. so why this log shows the next day is beyond me.

Other than that, i do not know what is going on. Can anyone help in resolving this? I need the app working by Tuesday.

    Which version of CRM and IOS (Ipad) do you have?

    Verify that IOS version is supported for CRM app

    CRM 2013 on Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Ipad (iOS) is not compatible with iOS 8.

    For CRM 2015, this app is supported on iOS 6, 7, and 8. For CRM 2013, it is supported on iOS 6 and 7

    CRM for Tablets support for iOS8 on Microsoft Dynamics CRM App would be compatible with CRM 2013 Organization post CRM 2013 SP1 UR 2 release.

    I will verify your logs with more time and try to determine if there is a possible causa and action plan to provide.

    CRM Version is: CRM 2013 SP1 (6.1.2.112) iPad version is 8.4. so we do have SP1 UR2 installed.

    Hello all,

    I analyzed logs again and try to verify possible causes seems that it is related with application metadata security role. Does this happen for all user or certain users? if this is the case verify that application metada role to read and write are configured for user http://crmtipoftheday.com/2013/11/05/the-application-metadata-security-privilege/

    Let me know if this helps to solve incident or error still going if there is a error message please let me specific error message.

    Hi Aldo,

    Yes, several test users (system admins, and other roles) are having this issue but so far, given these issues, we have not deployed to all users yet.

    Application metadata role is configures.

    On Surface tablet, Windows mobile phone and iPhone we don't have this issue. On iPad the error very often results in app crash. In the iPad log file we then see warnings like 'low memory' which I guess, are causing the app crashes. It seems to be an iPad related issue.

    Prior to the error we are having the error 'something went wrong while initializing the app,...'. I applied the resolution described in KB2899860 which seems to help, but it does not explain why only iPad crashes.

    Resolved. Thanks to Petra Rujioiu w/ MS Support. She emailed me the following solution for iPhone:

    Action Plan:

    a.  uninstall the CRM app on the testing device

    b.  next, very important step, is to Reset the Settings on iPhone:

    1. Open Settings > General

    2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on ‘Reset’.

    3. Select Reset All Settings > Tap button to Reset All Settings > Tap Button Again to continue. Apple makes you click through twice, to be sure that you really, truly mean it.

    e. Configure it against the CRM Online Organization and log in again with the affected user
