FTI Voucher - Splitting main account & description

Hi, I have a question regarding FTI vouchers related to the main account display and transaction descriptions.

Main Account:
Is there a way to split the FTI voucher lines so that each line appears separately for the main account under the voucher (Tax Invoice Journal > Voucher), even when the FTI lines are posted using the same main account and the same financial dimension string?

Description:
Is it possible for the description under the voucher to reflect the description entered at the line level?

Currently, the description shown for all the transactions under the voucher is taken from the first line of the FTI and is applied to every line in the voucher.

Is there a configuration perhaps can it be achieved through any feature enablement, Default description (Customer - tax invoice ledger & Customer - tax invoice, customer) or any workaround for this?

Thanks.

Your question is valid. However, unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge there is no standard parameter in D365 F&SCM that splits the voucher based on the Free Text Invoice line description. This is mainly because splitting the voucher by line description would also require splitting the Customer balance account postings so that they align with each revenue line description.

Out of the box, you could consider using the Financial Tags feature to capture and track the description for each line. It split Customer Balance with financial Tag description of each line and provide accurate reporting. Otherwise, achieving this behavior with default description would require a customization.

    Hi,

The reply from Syed provides great insights. I can confirm that your requirement is not part of the standard posting logic. In the past at a customer, we customized this part. It's too long ago to remember what exactly was changed and where to start.

    Hello,

Syed Haris Shah’s answer is the most reliable regarding out-of-the-box options.
I suggest following that path to build your process. At most, you could consider a small development to extend the logic for the tag string at the line level.

    Thank you,
    Giorgio
