Item Class Codes

Hello,

I have a list of Item Class Codes that I need to add a 6th Digit too.

We are strictly doing this for our "web" service as it will not affect anything in GP

So for example my list of class codes right now are:

11CCA

11MZI

12CLJ

I need to add a W on to the end of all of these.  I thought I could create a Macro to upload them all as the only thing that is changing is the ID, all the other information will stay the same, but it seems that you can not edit an existing class code.

    Katie,

That is correct, you cannot edit existing class codes. If you are going to attempt it in SQL, be sure you change it in all of the applicable tables. For sure the tables include

    RM00101

    SOP00200

    SVC00651

    SVC00654

You  may have more depending on which modules/products you have installed.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

While Leslie is correct if you are CHANGING your class IDs, If you need to add more, duplicating the existing ones but with an extra character, export them from the Class code table to excel, add the W to the end of the 3 ids and import them back into the same table.  You will now have 6 IDs

    Hello,

Through Macro you can make it possible.

    1. Create new class code and assign same setup as old.

    2. Export your Item with class using smart list

    3. Change Old Item Class with New One in Excel

    4. Use word mail-merge  and Macros to assign new class to items

    Thanks
