Does anyone know how to reset the error 8288 'Unable to increment next transaction number from General Ledger Setup after 1000 attempts'? This error occurs while attempting to generate the next accessible journal key using the taGetNextJournalEntry proc.

Thanks you

    I know this is a fairly old post, but bouncing the econnect server, did the trick for me.

    Hi,

    Did you tried 'GetNextDocNumbers' in eConnect?

    Below is code that may help you.

       GetNextDocNumbers myTransNumber = new GetNextDocNumbers();

               string currentTransacNumber = string.Empty;

    string sConnectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["GpeConnectConnectionString"].ToString();

    currentTransacNumber = myTransNumber.GetNextGLJournalEntryNumber(IncrementDecrement.Increment, sConnectionString);

    Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    This is a timing out issue, In regards to timing out what you could try is go into Control panel --> Administrative tools --> Component Services, then in the Component Services you will see MY COMPUTER right click on this and choose Properties. There will be an Options tab in the Properties of My Computer this will have the Transaction Timeout, by default it is set to 60 seconds. I would recommend to change this to 180 and then click okay. Then on the eConnect for Great Plains Com+ Package right click and choose Shutdown and then right click and choose Start. This will refresh the com+ package.

    Hope this fixes your issue.

    Regards,

    Santosh G
