I would like to sync Appointment with attachments to Outlook. But, the attachment sub grid is not available in the form. How can I show the Attachments subgrid?

Hi Marjorie Ruiz,
On what form do you want the Attachment Sub-Grid to appear? Typically, you add Sub-Grids to a Form using the Form Editor.
Hi Adrian Begovich,
I'm trying to add it on the Appointment form. I checked a D365 trial environment on what settings to use, if I will recreate the Attachment subgrid. However, the setup seems to be different for the Attachment subgrid vs. the usual subgrid.
Hi Marjorie,
I tested it in my D365 v9 online environment, the Appointment form itself has an OOB Attachment subgrid.
You must save the appointment before you can add an attachment, which means that the Attachment subgrid is activated after the appointment is saved.
So please show your situation. You could provide a screenshot of your Appointment form.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Lu Hao
What I understand from your last comment is on Appointment entity attachment sub grid is not available. So you check on D365 there is different sub grid functionality compare to your added sub grid.
Because of Default sub grid on D365 is special for appointment and its have some hidden customization on by MS. Its come default. But in your case it is missing or by mistake remove.
So you can import apportionment entity from other D365 so it will comes same as you want.
I hope you use D365 CRM
MSCRM 2013 not have default Attachment sub grid.
Thank you

Hi All,
I had a workaround for this issue. It happened that we have the OOTB Main form inactive for our entity.
1. I added the active form(with no attachment subgrid) and inactive form(with Attachment subgrid) to a new solution.
2. I exported the solution.
3. Unblock the solution and then extracted the solution contents.
4. I opened the customizations.xml file.
5. I looked for the Attachments node(tab) from the xml and copied the node to the form xml part of the Active form that we're using.
6. Saved the xml file
7. Compressed the solution files with the updated xml to zip folder.
8. Re-import the solution to the D365.
9. Publish.
10. Test!
Hope this helps!
Hi Abhishek Bhansali,
Thanks for your response, much appreciated! I agree this was one of our options. However, we can't afford any additional time to update the new form that will be imported to reflect the same customization as our form.
