Hi,
Can we increase the size of edt "ItemNameAlias" in d365Fo ? Actually i've a requirement to increase the string size of edt "ItemNameAlias" which is extended from "NameAlias", after creating extension of NameALias edt. and binds with the extension table field property. System throws an error of ItemNameAlias should be the base class.
Anyone familiar with this scenario? Any suggestion ?

Did you perform a full build and database synchronization after extension ?
I had the same requirements and i did not get this error. where are you getting it?

As ItemNameAlias is extending NameAlias you can not change size on extension of ItemNameAlias, thats not supported. Create extension of NameAlias and change it over there . Once change is done build and do synchronization.

There are several properties that can be customized on existing extended data types (EDTs) through extension.Including String Size.
please read this Doc: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/extensibility/modify-edt
After that, you should build your project and sync database.
After performing dull database synchronization, i've achieved my requirements.
