If i need to provide the customer with an option of after sale service for an item that  i have sold, How can i do that?

Please do not link that with item unless you use the Service Module. Please book the same as GL income otherwise you need to customize which is not a good as far as i am concerned.

    Hi Dinesh,

If I understood it correctly, You need to give after sales service of your product to your customer. like repair & maintenance, AMC contract of your product or any other service on your sold product.

If you want to track the service records and manage your service department then you use the service module but if it is only need of creating the sales invoice to book the financials then user GL code in sales order and post the order.

Now come to the point, How to indicate that this is the after sale service item. there are two ways in sales order.

    1) without doing customisation : write all the information as a comment (Either in line comment or text with blank type after the GL account line)

    2) With some customisation: add some fields on sales line or sales header whichever convinient to you for the information which want to bring with the sales order and also flow this to posted sales invoice for future reference.

Let me know if you still need any specific information.

    Regards,

    Saurabh Shah
