POS extremely Slow after upgrading to service pack 4 and latest hotfix31

Hi,


We recently upgraded all our RMS to its latest version. Service Pack 4 with Hotfix 31. Now we are in Version 2.0.0166. Have anybody notice following things.
POS is slow than ever and there are lot of complains from stores .....

1) After tendering any purchases, tender screen hang 5+ seconds to generate receipt & open the cash drawer
2) After completing tender, window hangs 4 to 5 seconds to come to the main transaction screen once you press OK to balance message
3) When canceling a tender screen to change any Qty or price, it takes 5 to 7 seconds to go back to item screen from tender screen.

I have done database re-indexing, shrink, Clearing up old data, reducing the size of the database, 
Our some store POS are running on Core i3, 4GB Ram, SQL server express 2005 (surprisingly even this POS get freezzzzze a moment when transaction completes, it like you cant even click start button in windows. its totaly hang the POS) 
And others running on Celeron 1.3 Ghz, 2GB memory - This is a nightmare.

Can anyone let me know if any suggestion available.

Trent : I hope you see this tread. I didn't see you here for a while. when we were in service pack 1 , all these things finish under 1 seconds.( Tendering, Printing receipt, opening cash drawer , cancel a tender scree. We got 75+ stores and hope you guys understand the pressure we get when there’s a huge Que in cash counters and cashier starts complaining everyday from a such number of stores

    Hi Clint,

    Yes this happens for all transaction.  

    Yes

    No 3rd party program causing it. we tested by removing 3rd party

    Yes without patches, it is same

    Yes we were running on SP1 for more than 4 years and then we moved to SP2.

    Our item master is 900K + . - ( Is this can be a cause)

    Hope feature pack 2 will fix the issues. Now and then we still get complain from stores.

    Hello SDDXB,

    Does this happen on ALL transactions, or is it a random occurance?

    Is this happening on ALL of your registers at all locations?

    Do you run any 3rd party applications in your stores?

    Did this happen at all before installing HF 31? Have you tried removing the HF 31 and just running on SP4 for a while to see if this continues to happen.

    I also see that you were running on SP1 for a while, did you move directly from SP1 to SP4? If you do happen to use 3rd party products, you may need to update those also as they may not be compatible with RMS SP4.
