RMS incompatibility?

We have 3 computers that have been installed with RMS on varying hardware - different motherboards, hard drives, processors, RAM. These have all had Windows 7 Home 32bit as their operating system. Each one of these computers has a problem with printing. They all use a Star Micronics TSP 100. Right now I have one that takes a minute to print a receipt, and another one that will print a few times, but then it simply hangs on the print.

All the other stores that run RMS run under Windows XP and we haven't had a problem. Does anybody know if there is a compatibility problem with Windows 7 RMS and the Star printers or any other ideas?

I have seen this before and cannot determine the cause yet. The fix is to revert to an older version of the Star driver 4.0 instead of the 5.3 version.

But Mike is right, you really should be using the Pro version and not Home in a business.

You stated the problem right in your note, which is that you are using W7 HOME, which is not supported by RMS nor any other Retail system I have worked with.

No problems with compatibility on most peripherals on the market with W7 Pro or Ultimate, 32 or 64-bit (assuming the peripheral has a 64-bit driver).
