Check, bottom stub prints totals on remittance

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When printing the check the totals on the bottom check stub are printing on the remittance, it appears that the regions need to be adjusted on the check body maybe so the bottom stub can print complete.  I'm not really sure why this is happening, any idea's on what to try to fix this?

Justin you are correct - the only way to make get below the 12 mark is to turn off the grid.

It was the smallest increment in the grid that is set to 12

    Thanks for the correction.

    Hi,

To decrease the size of any section (whetherdecreasing to less than 12 or not), in the Layout of the report, Navigate to Layout then unmark Grid if it's marked).

When adjusting the size any section, you cannot move the section past the bottom portion of any field in that section.

    Thanks,

    Justin

Lenny, the 12 is as far as I know the smallest size you can make the field.  As I recall it hard coded, but I stand to be corrected.

Leslie, looks like i cannot make the body less then 12.  Is it the minimum system default or is there a way to make it smaller.

    Thank you

    Hi Arleen,

You can modify the section sizes by clicking on the section designation on the left hand side of the layout (the little box that has the PH, B, PF, etc. in it.) and drag it up or down. The screen shot below should illustrate what I'm talking about:

I apologize for the blurry image, I'm limited on the size of the picture. Let me know it you can't make it out once it's posted.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Thanks this is very helpful, It is Stub on top and bottom (Graphical) I'll check the region setting, this was exactly what I was looking for.  Could you tell me where in report writier I can go to adjust the region setting?

Which check format are you using? Do you have a stub on both the top and bottom, or just the bottom?

    Leslie

For check with stub on bottom, these are the defaults:

    H1- 312

    B - 12

    F1 - 48

For check with stub on top and bottom (Graphical), these are the defaults:

    PH - 60

    B - 12

    F2 - 324

    F1 - 36

    PF - 48

Often, I've found that the size of the region makes a difference in how things print. Look at the original layout sizes (bottom left corner) when a region is selected and make sure that has not changed.

    Hi!

Could you scan your check and identify the problem you are describing? I, like many others on this forum have modified that check format a billion times. It would be helpful, at least to me, to see what you are dealing with.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
