Hello,

Need help importing excel spreadsheet containing purchase items from supply vendor (Daycon) such as item numbers, description, cost etc. Upon completion this would automatically create requisition. Once requisition has been generated the quote would need to be imported into NAV.

Thanks,

    Hi,

You have posted the question in the wrong forum (AX). I have moved it to the NAV forum for you.

What exactly help do you estimate? Are you already making some development and face issues or do you want to get the general understanding how to solve the task?

    It can be resolved differently:

Importing excel spreadsheets with items you can do using RapidStart service:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh997614(v=nav.90).aspx

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn874068.aspx

It would not require development, however will not provide you with automatically created requisition. You would need either to create it manually or generate it in Excel and again import using e.g. same RapidStart.

Another option is to develop an xml-port for importing the data from your file, that would generate requisition automatically in the end of the import, as well as the quote. This would require developer's license and few days of work.

Thanks. I have set up the template for RapidStart, however the import from excel failed. Are you familiar with the ongoing issues regarding Field 480 having to be included when utilizing Table 246?

Are you facing any error? Can you attach the screen shot here?

If it is related to Dimension Set ID, you can exclude 480 field as this would be generated automatically by system.
