I had the same results. Reconcile didn't resolve the issue. Check Links did.
I had run the reconcile routine and that didn't resolve the issue.
Running check links on the Receivables Open Transaction Files and the Receivables Customer Master Files removed the hung transaction from the system.
I have never had it work on the Reconcile Utility when I ran it only against once customer, I tend to run it against all customers and then it works. Don't know what it doesn't work when it is only one customer. But when it goes against all customers, it generally works.

Good thought, Susan. We have also used the Reconcile utility but without success. I would be interested to know if it works for Chris Flood in this instance as a first step.
I would go to Tools>>Sales>>Utilities>>Reconcile Receivables Amounts and run against the Outstanding Document Amounts and then against the Current Customer Information.
This usually will bring the CRM back into the Customer window.
If this doesn't work then I would be running File>>Maintenance Checklinks against the Receivables Open Transaction Files and the Receivables Customer Master Files.
As always, take a back up prior to running any maintenance against the tables.
We've had this situation occur with Cash Receipts payments when there's a disruption on the user's computer. We have run CheckLinks on the Sales series for RM to clean up the tables and in more than one instance it's seen as an abandoned record and is removed by the CheckLinks tool. The user then re-enters the payment anew. It may work the same way for you since it's also an RM transaction.
