Cases were closed on date is earlier than created on date.

Posted on by 3
I have found some Dynamics CRM cases were the closed on date is earlier than created on date. So I've two queries.

1. Has anyone seen this before and have any ideas how it might have happened? The users can't manually edit/enter the date when they deactivate them. The cases I have found don't have any processes running that could do this.

2. I'm trying to do an advanced find to find all the Cases like this. I can't figure out what combination of Closed On and Crearted On I need to do. Ideally I want to be able to do Closed On - Before - Created On but that isn't an option.

Thanks

Thanks Ray it is possible there was some data migration job run before my time. The lastest case with these dates out of order, is from 2022. If I can't find any recent ones, I'll chalk it up to that.

For the first question, assigning a value to the Created On field is possible. We can achieve this by assigning a value to the Record Created On field. It is often used in data migration and data initialization, and it may also used in data import.
For the second question, the query condition of field-to-field comparison is not yet supported at the UI level, so there is no way to directly find the data through Advanced Find. You can consider adding a new Boolean type calculated field. This field is used to mark the comparison result of the two time fields, and then use the calculated field as a condition in Advanced Find to find the required data. You can also use something like Power Query that supports fetchXml queries to achieve this.
