Generate XML file in D365 and send that to financial institution

I need to create a XML file that includes the details of vendor payment journals and upload that to the SFTP. This is a project to automate the posting process and payment in the bank. Any suggestion on how to create a XML file by clicking 'Post' button or easier ways to implement this?

Dynamics 365 Finance does support a few different kinds of payment file out of the box. Have you checked if your type is supported? What type of file should be sent?

It has to be an xml file and we created a sample that gets data from different tables from d365. How will I check the different kinds of payment file available?

It depends on the type of file that the financial institution (bank) will accept. For example, in Europe, one of the standards is SEPA. Which is supported but there are others. Did you search online?

    Hi Anton,

I checked with my manager and now we are in the Phase 1 and in this I have to create a XML file (different types for different vendor payments) and send that through SFTP server

    Hi Elza,

Microsoft Dynamics 365 has an Electronic Reporting module where you can configure the payment files in multiple formats; also XML. docs.microsoft.com/.../general-electronic-reporting

Usually banks do have support for a common format used in a certain country, but also some bank specific formats. The "standard" formats in a country or region could be already supported out of the box by Microsoft. You can check the available payment formats in the ER library.

Thanks Andre. I will take a look at those options.
