The Microsoft healthcare accelerator is deprecated and no longer available for download as of July 30 2021, the accelerator provided rapid development for healthcare solutions, but this is not the end rather the beginning to a more holistic framework and solutions for the Healthcare industry.
The Microsoft Healthcare Cloud provides a feature rich framework to customers and partners that enhances patient engagement, empowers health team collaboration, and improves clinical operational data insights to improve decision making and operations efficiencies. Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare makes it faster and easier to provide more efficient care and help ensure the end-to-end security, compliance, and interoperability of health data.
The Microsoft Healthcare Accelerator was the foundation for many partners solutions and now evolves to become the foundation for our first party Microsoft for Healthcare Apps and solutions.
The announcement for the deprecations was published last year and the guidance for the upgrade and migration process also was published, this documentation gives options for partner and ISV’s on how to upgrade or migrate their solutions to accommodate the new Microsoft Healthcare Cloud data model. The documentation provides the options on how to move from the Healthcare Accelerator to the New Healthcare Data Model.
The options on the upgrade process encourage to move to the Microsoft Healthcare Cloud, however if you are only planning on continue building aggregated application on top of the Healthcare Cloud and expand the reach on the applications and solution Microsoft have make available and Optional process that enables to update only the Healthcare Data Model this has been released as a preview and will allow partners and ISV’s with more interoperability for integrations with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) APIs and the healthcare data model.
This is the same HL7®FHIR® standards-based data model that comes included with all the Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare solutions. It is available as a standalone framework on which other organizations can build or extend their own healthcare applications.
MC4H documentation will provide extensible details on the data model and how the FHIR-based model makes Dynamics 365 implementation for healthcare customers easier, quicker and more secure.
The healthcare data model is already included in Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare solutions, It’s also available as a standalone option for partner and Dataverse customers in the Microsoft Solution Center.
For more information about deploying the healthcare data model, see “Deploy the healthcare data model (optional)”
