System service accounts – SSRS error?

(0) ShareShare

Hypothetically, is it possible a change in System service accounts (System Administration – Setup – System – System service accounts) to cause „Unable/Failed to logon to Microsoft Dynamics AX“ error while trying to connect reporting services/to generate SSRS report/?
Let’s say we have a business connector account: bproxy, not an ax user. In the reporting services configuration both “Service account” and “Execution account” match – it’s “bproxy”.
And in System service accounts users are:
1. Business connector proxy: bproxy
2. Workflow execution account & Microsoft Project Server Synchronization service account: ****** (an ax user – same for both)
Let’s say I change the Workflow execution account to “bproxy”. Is it possible that this change causes the SSRS error?
If so, how can I handle this problem and make the SSRS run properly again? And also to have the workflow configuration correct?

P.S.: Hypothetically, when I switch them back: Workflow execution account – to the ax user, not “bproxy”. And then only “bproxy” is able to generate SSRS reports.

This all without any changes to reporting server user permissions or elsewhere.
After all, I’m wondering does Workflow execution account have anything to do with Reporting server user permissions/access or something else has caused the problem?

What do you mean by that? How can I turn it on?

According to the article you've posted everything is fine with our configuration here, I think.
The execution account is 'bproxy' and it is a service account.

    Hi Elena,

Could you validate, you need to add :

    1. The account used to run AOS service

    2. The BC proxy account setup under "System Service accounts"

    3. The account running SSRS reporting services

to the below groups in the  AD:

    Windows Authorization Access group

    Pre-Windows 2000 Compatibility Access group

yes that is the one, this one must be the proxy user, I had issue with ssrs reports for TFS and those where running on same SSRS instance, TFS reports dit not work any more when service account became proxy, similar issue on the OLAP server.
