MSM Dimensions

Hi! Is there a way to view all pre-existing dimensions and fields available in Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM) so that I can determine which custom dimensions and fields I need to create and which ones are already available?

To clarify, I understand that custom dimensions are used to enhance calculations by creating entities. However, I want to use custom dimensions to create custom fields. For example, if I have a field called “Vehicle Size” in my dataset and it isn’t available in MSM, I want to create a custom dimension to store this field and map the imported data to it. Where can I find the pre-existing fields (e.g., type, unit, cost, etc.) in Microsoft Sustainability Manager?

Yes, you can access the Custom dimensions form from the Navigation on the left under Data, like in the image below.
From that form you can also mark one or more dimensions as inactive, so they're not presented in the various forms.
Deleting them is not possible due to potential of existing data having them referenced.

In Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM), you can see all the existing dimensions and fields by going to the Data Model in the Settings. This shows you the standard fields, like type, unit, and cost, already available in the system. You can also check MSM documentation for a complete list. If a field like Vehicle Size isn’t there, you can create a custom dimension, add the field, and map your data to it. Checking the existing fields first helps you avoid creating duplicates and makes your setup more efficient.
