REPORT WIZARD HELP

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 105

We are using online hosted version of Dynamics CRM, and we can only use the Report Wizard to build reports (to my knowledge). I am looking to create a report that creates a pie chart, of sales revenue of our biggest customer vs. all other customers (to appear lumped as one entity). Thus far, trying to createthis report with the wizard has just resulted in a pie chart of records separated (not lumped together). Any help is appreciated!!! I need to create more in depth reports then what is provided in most report wizard demos!

    Hi,

The report wizard does have some limitations.  I'm pretty sure you can not create the report you want with the report wizard:  top x customers vs all other customers for $$$ sales revenue.

See if your hosting provider allows you to build reports with report builder 3.0.  If you are using partner hosted, many offer such option.  Alternatively see if they can build this report for you for a fee.

You can create custom reports and upload them to CRM unless for some reason your hosting partner prevents that.  Check out this link for more information about SSRS reports.  The report builder option that Alex mentioned is similar.

    Hi,

You can build your reports by either uing Report builder or SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio platforms.

After this, you should save the file with a .rdl extension.

In CRM, you can now upload this file and you will be good to go!

You could use a normal chart rather than a report and set the CollectedThreshold to a suitable value that will split the pie into your largest customer / all others. See:
