Shipment Received not available after void an invoice

Hi friends, recently I had void an invoice associated to a Shipment Received, the void process was ok, but when I try to associate a new invoice to the same Shipment Received it was unavailable. When I type the itemnumber it show me an "exclamation" icon and it says something like: the items should be associated to an Shipment Received.

Why can I re-use this Shipment Received if I only void the invoice associated?

thanks in advance

Hernan

In GP there is no way to un-receive items. So if you have a PO and receive 20 widgets and then do a void or even a PO return of the 20 widgets, the only way to receive another 20 widgets would be to go back to the original PO and add another line on the PO for an additional 20 widgets. You would not be able to receive another 20 widgets on the same line in this case because the PO line was closed. I have always found this frustrating because there are times when the wrong item gets received. This is mostly due to similar part numbers. It would be a nice feature to be able to un-receive items in certain circumstances.

    Hernan,

Did you void the invoices on payables management using Void Open Payables Transactions window?

Voiding an invoice in Payables Management will not void the receipt in Purchase Order Processing. The document still be visible as invoiced in Purchase Order Processing.

Refer to following Knowledge Base article to reverse the transactions
