Is it possible for a development only to be activated without cloud connection?  I'm using the samples from Github related to Dynamics365Commerce.InStore/src/StoreCommerceSamples at release/9.37 · microsoft/Dynamics365Commerce.InStore (github.com)

I just need a POS client dev environment.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

You would need to connect to retail server / csu and have development pos activated to be able to see results of your development.

    Thanks.

No way around the activation step connecting to the cloud?  What about a generic link from Microsoft DEV like usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/

To begin with, your account won't be present there. So it will not work for sure

I am facing this issue. Did any one ever can fix it?

Consensus seems to be that the cloud server is required.  The individual developer environment has always been our biggest challenge with AX.  Just to build a desktop version with the usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/ is a MAJOR effort.  Especially if you factor in trying to get CDX working from a Retail POS.

    Good luck to all.

If you don't have a cloud hosted CSU, you can install install a self hosted Commerce scale unit. You can connect this Commerce scale unit to a tier 1 dev environment (FnO) or tier 2 sandbox (FnO) for initial configurations and pushing the data into the Commerce scale unit. Once you have activated the POS, then you can continue to work even if the FnO is turned off.

    Ref: docs.microsoft.com/.../retail-store-scale-unit-configuration-installation

For retail development, we install self hosted Commerce Unit + Modern POS + Visual Studio on a Windows 10 Azure VM which is very effective.
