Error message if you try to change the password in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013

In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, under User Preferences, we are getting an error message after hitting OK

"The password change failed for an unknown reason. Enter a different password or contact your system administrator"

This is a CITRIX environment, and there is no local installation available.  There is no problem resetting passwords from the Administration setup.

I am getting this same error but the links to the articles go to a web page that gives an unexpected error.

    Can someone reposts this links?

So what we both stated was correct Stacy. If the user logs into GP as his username he cannot change his password by going into User Preferences as he gets the error. If the user logs into GP as SA or another Admin then the user can go into the User Setup window and change the password for his GP account.

Please look at the KB's that were posted as I believe this is your issue.

No - the same user, under his own ID, can reset passwords via Admin, but NOT his own in preferences.  Same user, success one way, failure the other.

So you are saying a user is unable to change their GP password, but you can modify it for them?  If that is the case I would have a look at the password policy for your users and make sure they have the rights to do so. This KB article should point you in the right direction. support.microsoft.com/.../2028712

Sounds like you have the enforce Password Policies (Advanced SQL Server Options) checked for the users in GP. I would guess your account minimum Password Age domain policy is set to low. Take a look at this KB:

What is your ODBC SQL Native Client driver?

Verify and use the SQL Native Client ODBC connections from the client to the server

    Hope this helps!!!
