Allow Blank vs Nullable in SSRS report parameter

Hi all,

AS we know

To make the parameter optional the these properties of the parameter need to be set to True:

Allow Blank       True

Nullable            True

Could you please drop valuable comments on underneath queries.

1.What is the difference between these two parameters?

2.Allow blank does not mean allowing null value?

    Hello krishna,

"Allow Blank", Indicates whether the parameter is allowed to be blank.

On the other hand "Nullable", Indicates whether the value of a parameter can be null. If the Nullable property is set to True, a null value indicator check box displays next to the control that is generated for the parameter.

Please Note : The Reporting Framework does not provide support for indicating that an Integer, Float, or String parameter is a NULL value.

I hope it would be helpful.

    Hi Gautam,

I'm so glad if you could please elaborate with an exmple.

1.How these two properties are differed (parameter can be null /allowed to blank

       what is the difference)?

2.Need to use  two properties always If allow blank (then why two propeties

    in report instead of one)?

    Thank you so much...
