Many users experience the same scenario for the past week. Randomly, three or four times per day, when saving activities, they receive an error that the "save failed." Most of the time, all is well. Also, they can navigate around the system just fine. Other saving of information works successfully too. It it only randomly saving activities. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks for asking. There are no plugins or workflows. There is an external API that calls web services that interact with the customized activity form. The errors indicate timeouts. I am going to do some tracing with the SQL profiler. Perhaps you know of recommended SQL Profile Trace Settings to monitor and trouble-shoot. Actually, profile settings to trouble-shoot Dynamics CRM in general as well as with this specific form's associated SQL tables would be helpful.

do you have any plugins or workflows on some of the activity entities? Are there any additional details in those errors messages? When those errors occur, is there an option to download a log file?
