Hello all!
We've been using the sync between Sales and BC now since a go-live in April. Now that partially fulfilled orders are cluttering up the Sales Order screen in BC we've been following the forum information around archiving and then deleting the orders as they will not automatically delete since the full order was not completed. As we have the 'Automatically Create Sales orders in Business Central' turned on, whenever a sales order is deleted, it is then automatically recreated with a new Sales Order ID. Obviously this cannot be the right way for the sync to work (a delete should not delete the record from the integration table) Any ideas on how to stop the reappearing orders? Thanks for any help on this one!

Hello,
Let me try to get that answer for you and then report back in the forum. With Ascension day upcoming, this could take a bit longer though.
Thanks.
Thanks for the additional info Marco, can you fill us in on what the system is doing (or point to the codeunit) when an order is completely fulfilled and moves to Posted Sales Invoice? It seems that process updates something that prevents the Auto-Create from duplicating a sales order. Is it just updating a status somewhere that we could also update and then delete?
Hello,
Well it's sort of by design and process is sort of one way.
Sales order integration is somewhat special as it uses Salesorderintegratoin organization setting (IsSOPIntegrationEnabled) in D365 Sales, which effectively means sales order is done in D365 Sales, it's up to ERP or 3rd party to continue handling sales order further (you can read more about it in our docs as well).
We have many limitations due to Submitted status of sales order in D365 in terms of what we can synch back (e.g. that's why we post to timeline feed). Also if partial shipments or invoicing are done on BC side, there's also a lot of limitations in terms of changes that can be pushed back from Sales to BC.
We are currently collecting arguments to abandon this approach, as:
- This is a setting that was done long time ago (i think for Dynamics GP integration)
- Sales team has frequent regressions in this area
- I've heard multiple times about these limitation.
For example, F&O does not rely on IsSOPIntegrationEnabled setting which I believe gives them a bit more freedom in terms of sycnhing things back and forth in sales orders.
I'd propose to log suggestion for this so we can have it planned in one of upcoming release waves.
I'd also expect, that with customization capabilities partners can override this where needed.
Thanks.
