Hi,
Anyone knows the practical difference of these two options?? I have tested both and they boht look the same to me.
Thank you!
Hi CapsLock,
These are not the same. A prepayment invoice would be an advance, mostly not the full amount. You would need to do the payment, before you get the goods delivered. When you receive the invoice, you will get the full invoice and a deduction amount for your prepayment.
A proforma invoice is a preliminary bill which is showing the value of the goods which would be delivered and charged after fulfillment of the order. A proforma is not used for accounting and also not for performing any payments.
As Andre mentioned, Prepayment invoice is used for managing advance paid to supplier and has accounting impact.
Proforma is just to generate invoice before final posting and analze value and other info, also it doesn't have any accounting impact.
