Why is Business Central overwriting Default List Price in 365 Sales?

Hi all,

We have a situation where new items created from BC always sync to 365 sales with price list "Business Central Default Price List".

Our customer needs to have another price list used as default in the CRM.

Even if we edit it on the product in the 365 sales, at the next sync, BC sends "Business Central Default Price List" again.

Is there a way to stop this?
Thank you!

    Hello,

Here is the answer from the product manager related to the mail with your questions I sent yesterday on your behalf.

There are few thing that can be done to separate pricing:

    - Customer price groups allow you to specify pricing to specific groups of customers and synch those to D365 Sales as different price lists:

    - From 17.1 version, users can enable new sales pricing experience in feature management. That get’s them price list functionality. Then specific price lists can be synchronized with D365 Sales.

But there is a point in here. We should update this topic to include more information about price synching. The PM Created a doc defect for it so as soon to be more precise.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks.

RE: Why is Business Central overwriting Default List Price in 365 Sales?

    Hello,

I have been out of the office for a while so I have not been able to follow up since. This is a follow up that I just sent some mails internally related to the question I do not have an answer for myself. If I receive an answer from the team, I will post it here.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco,

Yes, please, we in turn need to explain one approach or another to our customers, and so far it's tricky to explain why a list price they  have been using for years is no longer valid.

So it would help to have as much details as possible from Microsoft.

    Thank You!

    Hello,

The documentation / recommendation about this scenario can be found in our docs and is a result of in-depth testing at our side while we designed the solution. One system contains master data and should be in charge. Of course I can ask around the reason why this requirement does exist if you wish.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco,

    Thanks you for reply.

So what do you suggest then?

In the CRM the default price list on older items is a different one.

Agents have been using that price list in sales orders, not the one sent from business Central.

I believe they even have a development in place to set that price list on every new sales order.

Is there no other option than to have them switch their working procedure and development to use "Business Central Default Price List"? And to update all existing items, previous to BC integration, to have "Business Central Default Price List"?

I'm sorry but we couldn't find any documentation or post about possible problems integrating the two systems where the CRM is old and BC is new.

    Best regards,

    Daniela

    Hello,

You should not modify the price list to avoid synchronization errors.

    Thanks.
