Batches in CRM

I want to create a batch to input my CRM data into a file... But I want to trigger this batch on a specific trigger.. The trigger is based on some data in CRM... (for example I want to trigger this batch on update of a specific field.) How can I achieve this functionality? Can I create a batch which can trigger on these types of trigger? Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,

you cannot do it directly in CRM (there is no scheduled "export" feature there)

But there are lots of options:

    - You can create an SSIS package that would run periodically, and you might combine it with a workflow in CRM that will respond to the update of specific field and set a flag on such record (so that your SSIS package would know which records have been updated)

    - You can create a Scribe package (same idea as above)

    - It seems you are on-prem, so you should be able to write directly to the file from a custom workflow activity (some development would be required)

    - You might try Microsoft Flow if you are online

Thank you for your reply... I can write to a file using custom workflow activity... But, I want to save that file in server, which later I want to move that file using connect direct... Is that possible?

If you write that file on the server, all you need is network access to that file under your own user account if you wanted to copy it somewhere else.. For example, your workflow might write that file into a shared folder on the server.

(not sure if I am missing something in the question?)

If you are using on-Prem, you can create a console application that will do your processing.

You can call that console application from a Plugin that does not have Sandbox isolation mode.

You plugin will be able to execute a Shell command to perform your processing.
